Synopsis
INSPIRATION
Why am I the one to tell this story? I became interested in writing this while at a Christmas service at my church. We were singing Run Run Rudolph, which is what you do in church in Southern California, sing songs about fictional reindeer, when I heard a voice say, Art I want you to tell my story. I looked around and was pretty sure everyone in there knew the story. Art I want you to tell the story of my parents. Okay, but besides their names I really don’t know anything about your parents.
The more I researched the story I thought what if it was a love story about a teenage couple. That had this event happen to them that literally changed the world.

The story we all love every holiday from their POV. Finally.
ABOUT MY PROJECT
I have a Romantic Comedy in the vein of Crazy Rich Asians set in ancient times.
It’s called The Birth and it’s about the most famous family of all time. Two thousand years before the Kardashians. A young Jewish couple meet in a harsh, occupied desert. After finding herself carrying a prophesied child. She must convince her fiancé to continue with the marriage, deal with their parents, culture, and an invading army to bring the child into the world.
It is a prequel to the Greatest Story Ever Told.
PLOT SUMMARY
The project continues to follow a teenage girl and her parents in a country occupied by an invading army. She meets the new boy in town as they navigate their first time relationship problems occur when she finds out she is pregnant in a society that frowns on unwed pregnancy.
Further problems occur after they wed when now they must travel to the town the husband grew up in or face the wrath of the invading army.
WORLD
The movie takes place in the world of ancient Israel with the major cities being Nazareth, Judea, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.
Here each city is about 80 miles from each other and walking is the most common form of transportation. Beside the distance there are scoundrels, troops, insurgents, scorpions. and the desert heat to deal with.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
My main character is Mary. She’s a normal teenage girl who wants to serve God, sing, and become just a normal mother and wife. By the end of the movie we realize that she has arched into a Queen and the mother of a prophesied child.
Other characters include Yoseph who changes his name to Joseph after marriage. He falls in love with Mary and becomes the Husband she has dreamt of and the adoptive father of the child.
Jacob, Yoseph’s dad. A carpenter in a place without a lot of wood.
Joachim and Anna, Mary’s parents, who just want her to grow up to be happy but not to stand out in anyway.
The Innkeeper and his family, the three Kings, Shepherds and of course an Angel contribute to the story in new ways we haven’t explored before.
Over the course of the feature we’ll see a love grow between the parents as they attempt to do the seemingly impossible.
TALKING POINTS
This project is unlike any in its genre because of it is about the parents not the child. Their relationship. Their love and dependence on each other. Many consider it to be a Christian adventure but it is also a Jewish adventure and they were also the parents of the Muslim Prophet Jesus.
Audiences will love “Oh thats why” moments built into the scenes. Alternative explanations that will transcend many religions and cultures.
And they’ll particularly respond to the theme that people love. Even 2000+ years ago people loved as they do today. The voices are in modern language.
I see it as a holiday event. Releasing on Thanksgiving weekend it could be the official beginning to the holiday season and someday being on the official holiday watch list with It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation and of course, Die Hard.
The project will particularly appeal to 18-34 because of the tone that true love not only prevails but can overcome all difficulties.
My project could easily spin off into a event like Rocky Horror or the Room. Being the official beginning to the Holiday Season. We could show it at theaters attached to a mall for the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend. Not to be seen again till next year. Unless you own the Blueray or stream it.
To do so, I’d like to follow the example of Paranormal Activity and post your comments of the movie with a number of winners taking a trip to the region to see what we were replicating.
ABOUT MY CAREER
I’m a writer, producer, and musician specializing in adventure with a faith undercurrent. My style could be best described as familiar and “I never saw it that way before”. I draw inspiration from life experiences and looking outside of the box. My main goal is to make a living as a producer, writer, actor, and part of Hollywood.
