Synopsis;

INSPIRATION

I experienced this myself. This is basically how I got into the music industry and the turning point of my life.

ABOUT MY PROJECT

I have a dramatic short In the vein of the breakfast club. It’s called the flip and it’s about a freshman in high school who goes through a transformation from being a laughing stock to being a hero.

PLOT SUMMARY

The project continues to follow a boy who is trying to stand out as he enters high school and has no reason too. Together with his friends and family as they try to help.

Problems occur when his dad gets him tickets to a Blue Oyster Cult concert and as he gets up the nerve to ask the head cheerleader they are stolen by her boyfriend, the Varsity Quarterback. Now he must endure the entire school bullying and hazing him until the concert or face telling his dad he lost them. With nothing else to do on the day of the concert he hitchhikes across town to the venue and meets the guitar tech and production manager. A man forever to be playing cowbell. Friending him he hangs out backstage and during the soundcheck. After dinner and before the show, the people he has been spending all afternoon with show up in stage clothes and he realizes that they were the band. During one of the guitar changes the tech has him run up on stage to give the lead singer his guitar. Looking out in the crowd he sees the cheerleader, the football player and all the cool kids. For a moment in time all time stops we they all recognise each other. Needless to say all life changes at that moment.

WORLD

The movie takes place in the world of any midwestern town in the late 1970’s. It can be adapted to anytime this is just when it really happened. Here there is a clear line between jocks, heads (stoners), and nerds and losers even though most of the characters don’t see the lines

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

My main character is Johnny.

He’s a typical freshman with more to his story then he wants to let on. He has a good heart and believes that that will be what will make him stand out. He wants to fit in to a new environment that he has been dreaming of but had no idea of the difficulties. By the end of the story they realize that with courage and a lot of luck the world might not be such a bad place. We all had freshman years.

Other characters include Father, and Mother who’s a Salesman and Nurse respectively who basically focus on their lives more than their child’s.

Jonny’s friends who like him are new in school and outsiders. Since he has such a good heart he stays loyal to them even when they have to back off for self preservation.

The cheerleader, her boyfriend the Quarterback and their teams. They are truly mean and evil at the expense of others. Especially Johnny. In the end instead of revenge they deserve they receive forgiveness ending a cycle of hazing, for that school, at that time.

Over the course of the feature we’ll see the theme of loyalty and togetherness. Can do , will do. endurance and grace.

TALKING POINTS

This project is unlike any in its genre because of showing a person that was not a troublemaker or misfit just a normal guy who becomes the target of high school hazing and pranks.

Audiences will love music and the determination to overcome the difficulties in life even if they are just to endure them.

The project will particularly appeal to 18 - 34 because it will still be fresh in their memories. Also baby boomers since it is in their time period.

ABOUT MY CAREER

I’m a writer, producer, and musician specializing in adventure with a faith undercurrent. My style could be best described as familiar and “I never saw it that way before”. I draw inspiration from life experiences and looking outside of the box. My main goal is to make a living as a producer, writer, actor, and part of Hollywood. I also have an interest in monetizing new media like I have done in music. I’m excited to work in Hollywood because of the storytelling sensibilities and taste. As a writer, I believe I offer a unique approach, perspective, and voice.
